Welcome to The Bangor Band

The Bangor Band is made up of musicians dedicated to carrying on the tradition of band music that has become synonymous with the Bangor community. We are teachers, medical professionals, resteraunteurs, retirees and talented high school and college students who share the same goal of making good music.

We are 150 years old, and growing strong. Under the capable leadership of Dr. Fred Goldrich, the band is enjoying a resurgence of membership and we are delighting our audiences with every performance. 2009 is going to be a busy year, so please check by our website often for updates. We are proud to be one of the oldest continuous community bands in the United States and to be the musical ambassadors for the city of Bangor, Maine.

Fall has arrived in Bangor and your Bangor Band is back in full swing, preparing for our tribute to veterans at Cole's Land Transportation Museum. Please join us at 2 p.m. for a program of patriotic music, recognition of our veterans and a tribute to the recent tragedy at Fort Hood. Call 945-3811 for details.

Christmastime is just around the corner! Please mark your calendar for our December 13th holiday celebration scheduled to start at 2 p.m. at the Bangor Civic Center. This is a family friendly event, so please bring the youngsters to meet Santa and join us for our popular carol sing-a-long!
