Welcome to The Bangor Band

The Bangor Band is made up of musicians dedicated to carrying on the tradition of band music that has become synonymous with the Bangor community. We are teachers, medical professionals, restaurateurs, retirees and talented high school and college students who share the same goal of making good music.

We are almost into our 150th of making music! Our history makes us one of the oldest community bands in the United States, and we are committed to upholding the legacy that has been passed on to our care. Under the spirited direction of Dr. Fred Goldrich, the Bangor Band is an exciting and entertaining group to both hear and see. With our 150th anniversary fast approaching, plans are already being made to commemorate this important milestone in our history. After a brief hiatus, the band has resumed rehearsals and are very excited to be preparing for 2009, our anniversary! Please join us in December for our annual holiday concert to be held at the Bangor Civic Center on December 14th at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome and it will be a fun-filled afternoon of holiday favorites, a tribute to Leroy Anderson on his 100th birthday, and of course, a special visit from the Jolly Old Elf from the North Pole.
